This workshop is designed to offer interpreters working in educational and community settings a means to examine their own skills as it pertains to voicing in their work and in preparation for the EIPA and national testing. All interpreters are invited.
Participants will explore the differences between typical gloss voicing and correct voicing styles; engage in adjective- intensity activities to increase their vocabulary choices in order not to gloss ASL voice interpretations. In addition, participants will enhance prediction skills through activities that emphasize mind/discourse-mapping techniques; explore other descriptive vocabulary choices as it pertains to environment, clothing, action and attitudes; and obtain helpful hints as it pertains to voicing.
To register, contact Alisa Ensign (alisae@usdb.org or 801.368.8745) by Monday, March 8, 2010.
